The good weather is coming?

Hello! It seems that we have to say good bye to the snow, cold, coat... and say welcome to the sun, hot, t-shirts... I hope... because the last year, in June, it was snowing!!I am going to tell you what happened in my last two months: March started with my Mid- Term in Suru, Leppoja, two houses in the middle of the forest. A meeting for 4 days with other volunteers in Estonia, speaking about our projects and making a lot of plays and activities. Delicious food, hiking, swin in a frozen lake after sauna, make fire...    ... [Lire la suite]

Bonjour tristesse, salut challenge

Yop   Even each volunteer writes around one post per month, it can be sometimes difficult ro find an interesting topic. Which one is not related with a previous post of another volunteer. When I saw the last Melanie's post, I had an idea. Seeing all these positive words, this motivation, this light behinh the open door, I though "Hey Quentin, you are a sarcastic, ironic and pessimist person, everybody thinks that you are depressed, taking the negavity to create the worst joke ever. Then why not to speak about the dark side of... [Lire la suite]

Everything in life depends on self-motivation, If you follow some targets in your life, in your free time, in your job, your hobbies, travelling, lifestyle, family.. Even the expecations on ourselfs have an huge impact. The motivation changes the way how we achieve our goals, changes the way how we reach our goals. But the motivation is also influenced by the weather, by music we listen to, by the success we already achieved, and how important they are for us, in addition by our experiences in childhood and daily life.   The... Oldenburg - the city where people live in dog houses and eat turf

Oldenburg - the city where people live in dog houses and eat turf.   Want to know more?    I'm dedicating this blog post to my charming home town, which hosted me for almost 20 years.  This has two reasons:   1. I figured you already know Narva quite well and it would be even more fun to get a little insight into another town from abroad and 2. When I visited Oldenburg this month, we had bombastic spring weather and I got to take lots of beautiful pictures!    To start off, I would like to... [Lire la suite]

Independence Day

Hello! Today, was the military parade in Narva on Estonian Independence Day. I had the possibility of to be in Tallin and Narva in this special and rainy day. The people in Narva told me that February was the coldest month. I am afraid but, until now, the weather is good. In fact, there were some beautiful days the last days, and I had the possibility of made this marvellous picture.     At the end of January, I went to Stockholm with the other volunteers. 34 hours by ship and only 7 hours in the city, but I could... Don't wait for sun...

... Dance in the rain! This is the art of living. At least that is what my calendar tells me this month. And somewhat I think this is a great philosophy of life. I think everyone can transfer this saying on a certain situation and therefore understand it differently. What I am learning here ( and this process of learning has definitely not ended, yet ) is to be more flexible and calm about what I experience as downturn-situations. And above all to be a chameleon and try to adapt to my sorroundings as good as I can, in order to feel... [Lire la suite]

Late and late and late and late

Hello ! This is my new friend ! I met him in Helsinki, after climbing a hill and be lost in some commercial galleries. To go to Finland and later to Sweden (cf last Melanie's post) was really exciting for me and the teenager I was, listening the finnish bands, interested by the scandinavian mythology and dreaming about the lakes, forests, islands or mountains. Ok, I just saw the biggest cities of these countries and saw some little islands on the ferry. But whatever, it was a good beginning.    This a video about my... [Lire la suite]

34 hours by ship

New year - New countries :) during your Evs, you have the chance to see as many countries as you can. Especially with other volunteers, what iamazing. Our first trip this year was on a very big ship which is called viktoria and brought us to Stockholm. 8 volunteers between 2500 passengers on board. The first time, I was in a big, luxurious ship like this. Viktoria has 740 rooms and 2254 beds to sleep, shops, bars, restaurants, sauna, live music (...) The first way to Stockholm was about 17 hours, which I didn't feel. If you... [Lire la suite]

I've been already here for 3 months and a half. During this time I've lived lots of different situations, I've pass through some difficulties, I've laughed, cried and learn. Learn in the way I like the most, not with formal classes, with loads of notes and pressure. Learn by doing, feeling, falling down and standing up. Learn from the others over a glass of wine in a Saturday night. I'm discovering so many things about myself, and I'm not even in the middle of my EVS. When sometimes I feel down, I just think about all the things that... [Lire la suite]
